Park
The Southwest Corridor Park is a 4-mile linear park that runs along the path of the MBTA Orange Line. It includes bicycle and walking paths, playgrounds, spray pools, basketball courts, tennis courts, and gardens. The park is a state park under the care of the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), with extensive community involvement through a network of park volunteers and partner/neighbor organizations.
DCR manages state parks and oversees more than 450,000 acres throughout Massachusetts. It protects, promotes, and enhances the state’s natural, cultural, and recreational resources.
The Southwest Corridor Park Conservancy (SWCPC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Southwest Corridor Park.
The Southwest Corridor Park Alliance is an advisory group that works with the Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Southwest Corridor Park Conservancy to support the park. The alliance helps channel the energy of park users, friends, and volunteers into active stewardship, including the management of the park's many community gardens.
